The flat arid spaces and large metropolises of the Southwestern United Stateshave influenced my work.  As I explore and experience this part of the country, I am observing, but also absorbing the landscape, movement, light, space and other transformations taking place around me.  These changes within the landscape are similar to the experiences I engage in during my artistic process.  As I consider my work in and out of my studio, I address a tension between abstraction and the landscape.
